Considerations

If your goal is emergency power for critical systems such as lights, refrigerators, freezers, sump pumps, a hot water heater, kitchen appliances and central AC/heat you can consider generators in the 14KW to 20KW range.  These generators will provide enough power to sustain critical systems, but you may not be able to run everything concurrently.  If your goal is to run multiple AC and hot water systems, a swimming pool and extra appliances such as ice makers or wine coolers you will need to upgrade to a 24KW-60KW liquid cooled unit.  You might also consider a liquid cooled unit in areas where noise is an issue as the liquid cooled units are quieter.  To properly size your generator, we will need to complete a load analysis of the systems you expect to run off the generator.  The links below provide additional information about the 14KW, 20KW air cooled units (top link) and the 24KW - 60KW liquid cooled units (lower link) to view home generator cost.
